Lajatico is located just 30 minutes drive from Pisa airport along quiet country lanes, surrounded by the Tuscan landscape, it is also famous as the birthplace of the opera singer and Andrea Bocelli, who performs every year, together other international artists, in the nearby Teatro del Silenzio. Ville degli Olivi has been restored in collaboration with Andrea's brother architect, Alberto Bocelli.
From the property you can easily walk to several excellent restaurants and some charming local shops, where you will soon be welcomed by name, where you will find everything you need for any need.
Nearby there are facilities for horseback riding and several golf courses including one of the best in Tuscany (Castelfalfi), less than 30 minutes by car.
From here in about 30 minutes by car you reach the coast with some beautiful beaches, or you can take a bath in the volcanic waters rich in salt of the nearby Casciana Terme, famous since the Middle Ages as a favorite place of Matilde di Canossa.
Lajatico is located directly on the wine route. The local area of the Valdera is known as the Pisan Chianti because of the many excellent winefarms of this area.
No other part of Tuscany offers such a central position from which it is easy to reach the most beautiful places of this rich region. Florence, Pisa, Siena, Volterra, San Gimignano and Lucca are all less than an hour away by car. |
